We review the checklist that you will be using as you visit reception sites, and explain how to use it.

At this point, you will have printed out your previous checklists in the Reception Module and made some decisions about what kind of reception site you want.In addition, the videos on catering, food service and bar service will have given you your options, and you should have a pretty good idea of what you want for your reception at this point.

Through the narrowing down process, you might still be considering two different types of receptions, or maybe even have made a final decision on what kind of wedding reception you want.

Open up the Reception Site Services Checklist while you are listening to this video, and follow along. The first section of this checklist gives you a place to record all the contact information for the venues you are going to visit and explore, as well as space to put in responses for a number of different venues.

The second section, gives you all the questions to ask about a cocktail reception—whether you are having a small one before a meal, or whether that is the type of wedding reception you have chosen.

Section three, the Meal Reception section, has all the questions to ask about the four types of meals you can have—from the menu options to the types offood service available.

The last section has two pages of question to ask—from what kind of table linen they have available to parking and wheelchair access. Most reception sites will have printed information about their services for you to take away, so be sure to ask if it is not offered.

Make notes as you go, because once you have visited your third site, you will not remember who told you what. There is so much new information that it is hard to keep it all straight.Having a friend come along to take notes of your conversations will keep you and your fiancé free to focus on the conversation at hand.

Remember, you can always phone them back and ask if something gets missed during your visit.
