The wedding industry is huge, and companies come and go.In addition, because couples use a place only once—their wedding day—some businesses don’t concern themselves with keeping their customer’s happy. And some businesses just aren’t very good at what they do!
So what’s a bride or groom to do?Due diligence—which means check your facts, inquire, and get informed. The best source for information about a wedding site, a caterer, a florist, or any other wedding vendor is to check with past clients.Ask your vendors to give you the names of 2 or 3 wedding couples so you can check references. If they don’t want to give you references, don’t use them!
A very important place to check is the Better Business Bureau. If there have been any complaints on record, it probably means that the customers did not get satisfaction when complaining of the service to the company, and felt the need to go further to the Better Business Bureau.Be careful if you choose to go with a company that has complaints against them.
When shopping on-line, the addition of the Better Business Bureau icon is an indication that the company is a member of the Better Business Bureau in good standing.
Always check references for all your vendors—from your wedding site to your limousine service. A simple question: “Do you have references from other wedding couples?” Ask if you can call those past clients and talk to them yourself. It can go a long way to making YOUR wedding day much more pleasant.
